The month of February usually brings to mind images of skiing or
building a snowman, not working
in a garden. But the folks at Capital Dsitrict Community Gardens are urging area
residents to
think about gardening now!
The organization manages 34 community gardens in Albany, Troy,
Latham, Rensselaer, Water-
Vliet and North Greenbush, several of which are still under development. And they
are encouraging
people to call them now at 518 274-8685 if
they want a plot this Spring. Program manager Sharon
DiLorenzo says "Since we start signing people up in February, most gardens are filled
up by April.
Now is the time to let us know that you're interested."
A phone call to their Troy-based Office will get you information
on when and where to sign up for
a garden plot of your own.
